Sarah Palin’s daughter and baby’s father split!

Remember that classic moment on Saturday Night Live, when Tina Fey (playing Sarah Palin) said, “Marriage…is a sacret institution between two unwilling teenagers”?

Well, the marriage between Bristol Palin and gorgeous hunk Levi Johnston (https://bobbiblogger.wordpress.com/wp-admin/post.php?action=edit&post=87) is off, off, off in a very bitter way.   Here’s the latest from Wasilla on this sad, but not surprising, story:

WASILLA, Alaska – Levi Johnston and Bristol Palin, the teenage daughter of Gov. Sarah Palin, have broken off their engagement, he said Wednesday, about 2 1/2 months after the couple had a baby. Johnston, 19, told The Associated Press that he and 18-year-old Bristol Palin mutually decided “a while ago” to end their relationship. He declined to elaborate as he stood outside his family’s home in Wasilla, about 40 miles north of Anchorage.

He also said some details of the breakup, rumors of which had been swirling on the Internet, were inaccurate.

Bristol Palin said in a statement that she was devastated about a report on Star magazine’s Web site that quoted Levi’s sister, Mercede, as saying Bristol “makes it nearly impossible” to visit the teenagers’ infant son, Tripp. The baby was born Dec. 27.

“Unfortunately, my family has seen many people say and do many things to `cash in’ on the Palin name,” said the statement, which was issued through the governor’s political action committee. “Sometimes that greed clouds good judgment and the truth.”

Now’s Levi’s sister, Mercede is telling all exclusively to Star and the picture she paints of life in Wasilla, Alaska is not a pretty one. Bristol, 18, has virtually cut Levi out of the life of their two-month-old son Tripp.

“Levi tries to visit Tripp every single day, but Bristol makes it nearly impossible. She tells him he can’t take the baby to our house because she doesn’t want him around ‘white trash’!” Bristol won’t even allow him to watch the baby for a few hours — unless he’s babysitting!

The worst part, Mercede continues, is that the former vice presidential candidate supports Bristol’s treatment of Levi, 19. “I used to love Sarah,” Mercede says sadly. “But I’ve lost lots of respect for her.”

Wow, can you imagine that class act Bristol Palin calling the father of her child “white trash”???!!!  Sounds like the Palin family’s gotten too big for their britches (or bitches as the case may be)!

The bitter McCain backlash against Sarah Palin continued today as it emerged that Republican Party lawyers were heading to Alaska to retrieve her $150,000 (£95,000) campaign clothes.

The vice-presidential candidate’s hopes of challenging Barack Obama in 2012 took a big dent as simmering tensions with the McCain camp finally boiled over into wide-ranging criticism of her conduct.

In a string of damaging briefings, it was claimed that Mrs Palin had spent ‘tens of thousands’ more on her clothes than budgeted for, that she once met McCain aides dressed in nothing but a towel and that she did not know Africa was a continent.

She  was also unable to name the nations in the vitally important North American Free Trade Agreement. 

There are only three. Her own, its northern neighbour Canada and its southern neighbour Mexico.

The 44-year- old former Republican running mate’s lack of general knowledge  -  and a storm over her designer wardrobe  -  emerged as she returned to her home state of Alaska. 

Extraordinary details of bitterness and jealousy between the Alaska governor and John McCain were laid bare following their White House defeat.

McCain aides complained that Mrs Palin refused to be coached before TV interviews – even after it emerged she wasn’t sure about Africa’s status in the world.

Republican bosses also complained that Mrs Palin and her family spent even more on new clothes and shoes than previously reported.

One McCain aide described the Palin family shopping spree in some of America’s most exclusive department stores as ‘Wasilla hillbillies looting Neiman Marcus from coast to coast.’

According to Newsweek magazine, a party donor who agreed to foot the clothes bill was expecting to pay out up to £15,000.

He was stunned when he received the bill for nearly £100,000. And that wasn’t even the whole tab, it was revealed yesterday.

Mrs Palin also allegedly leaned on some of her low-level handlers to put thousands of pounds worth of additional purchases on their personal credit cards.

Aides claimed a Republican Party lawyer is now being dispatched to Alaska to inventory the clothes and retrieve any still in the governor’s possession.

Mrs Palin denied the claims yesterday, laughing off suggestions that she lived a ‘diva lifestyle’ in Alaska. 

‘The knives are out and Sarah’s getting filleted,’ one U.S. television network reported yesterday. 

The Republican contenders for president and vice-president barely spoke to each other in the lead-up to election day and indulged in a six-week-civil war, it was claimed.

The ill-fated pair began to fall out only a fortnight later in mid-September, insiders revealed yesterday.

Mrs Palin’s aides hit back, claiming she was naive about designer labels and outraged when she found out how much her suits and dresses cost. Spending by staff was reimbursed, they said.

They also revealed she was enraged by leaks from officials dubbing her a ‘whack job’  -  slang for mad. 

Last week’s hoax call from a Canadian comic who convinced her she was talking to French leader Nicolas Sarkozy caused fresh aggravation because she conducted diplomacy on the hoof  -  and then failed for three days to tell the McCain team she’d been hoodwinked.

There was a striking metaphor for the doomed partnership when the pair went their separate ways on Wednesday afternoon. Mr McCain, 72, drove himself away from their hotel base in Phoenix, Arizona, in his own Toyota.

But Mrs Palin and 18 family members left in a motorcade stretching to a dozen vehicles flanked by a dozen police motorcycle outriders.

It was more proof, according to McCain aides, that her ambition had stretched way beyond the job in hand as she focused on running for President herself in four years. 

She had even intended to deliver her own speech just before Mr McCain’s concession address on Tuesday  -  an unprecedented move  -  before being firmly told it was out of the question.

Sarah Palin’s nomination as Veep candidate was the biggest collective celebration of stupid the US has ever seen. It also proves that the standard for a white american woman to reach higher office is much lower than for minorities. A minority with her breathtaking ignorance, unremarkable education, ethical lapses, and generally low-rent behaviour would NEVER have been governor much less Veep nominee. Appalling that 50 million Americans would vote to put her so close to the presidency.

Bobby Jindal is like a younger version of Obama except he’s a Republican. A Rhodes scholar, accomplished, capable and ambitious – it would be utterly hilarious if he ran against Obama in 2012 just to see those Americans that are still racist have a hissy fit over having to chose between an African-American and an Indian-American. Haha….love it!

Obama said there were 57 or 58 states in the USA . No one in the press noticed or critisised. Biden said Pres. FDR got on tv in 1929 and explain the stock market crash. The press did not notice. What a bunch of nothing. The Brits on here should look at themselves, after all, the majority of young Brits did not know who Churchill was and did not know what happened in 1066. The Brits should worry about there own ignorance, which is in abundance.

In my opinion, the GOP has set McCain up, so to speak.  The Republicans knew that because of the disastrous presidency of George W Bush, no Republican could win the presidency in 2008; hence, they’ve USED McCain as a sacrificial lamb and are testing the waters with Palin for 2012.

I pity McCain–he’s served his country only to be used and abused by his own party.

Sarah Palin, Pentecostal: The Second Coming for the USA?

Hello, blog friends,I just came across the following column by author Jeanette Winterson and thought you might want to read a British intellectual’s take on Sarah Palin: http://www.jeanettewinterson.com/pages/column/column_item.asp?columnID=119

What are we going to do about Sarah Palin?     As far as I am concerned it will be like having the late Mrs Winterson in the White House; something she would have enjoyed hugely, but the rest of us, less so.    I am one of the few arty intellectuals on the planet who really understands what it means to be a Pentecostal. For those of you don’t know, I was raised that way, and so, when people talk about it lightly it makes me shudder. It is a serious faith and an active faith, and if anyone thinks that Sarah Palin will be a Pentecostal in private and a politician in public – forget it. She is going to make Mitt Romney look like Richard Dawkins.   Oh dear. All we can do is vote her out, and let’s hope that happens, because if it doesn’t then we might as well get into the body bags now.   Pentecostals believe in the Second Coming and they want it to happen – they will be in Rapture, and the rest of us will get thrown into the pit with Satan and the other losers. Well, so goes the story, but it is a powerful story, and there will be little restraint on activities that will push us to the brink of all-out war and beyond. If SP is really Pentecostal to the core, Armageddon won’t worry her, and she might even see herself as destined to be part of the Final Hour.   Pentecostals are big on Bible interpretation, and they love reading themselves into the Book of Revelations – if you haven’t read it yourself recently, go and stay the night in a cheap motel and you’ll find the Gideon in the drawer. Keep the light on and get a stiff Scotch.   I don’t know if I am worried, but I am concerned. Even yesterday, a guy from the Times (London), remarked that SP hadn’t been born into the Pentecostal faith, but had embraced it, revealing how little even educated media types know about that branch of faith. It doesn’t matter if both your parents are Pentecostal; you must still accept the faith yourself, in your own right, through Baptism by Total Immersion. It is a faith you choose.    This is really good as an idea – the worst thing in life is passivity. Don’t accept anything you haven’t worked out for yourself. Yes, great, but in the case of SP, it means she has thought about it and decided to live it.    Pentecostalism is pretty basic stuff. It takes the nastier bits of the Old and New Testaments, and uses them as tenets for modern life.   It doesn’t understand the concept of sexual choice, nor of gender discrimination. It is low on intellectual questioning, high on faith.    But faith in what? Mainly what the Pastor tells us according to his interpretation of the scriptures, so if SP’s Pastor believes in witchcraft, then witchcraft will soon be an issue in the White House.    She calls herself a hockey mum. Small-town values grafted onto a regressive understanding of scriptural truth is scary stuff.    I am not a Richard Dawkins type, and I believe in the validity of religious faith, and I believe that religion has just as often been a civilising influence as it has been a destructive dark power. I prefer a world where there is recognition of the invisible and the unseen, the unprovable. I do not find that people who have no faith, and no religious values behave better, or are better people than those who have faith of some kind. It is not straightforward.    Some of the best things have been done in the name of religion – and yes, some of the worst.    My worry is that there is a particular strand of folksy Americanism that is distrustful of ideas, of intellectuals, of science, of enquiry, of doubt, and so on. George Bush has fed this head-in-sand, gun-in-holster, pie-in-oven, stuff, and Palin will make it much worse.    Let’s not despair, but let’s not be head-in-sand ourselves either. This is a very serious time

Palin vs. Biden (a.k.a Sorority Pledge Versus Scary Halloween Mask)

Good morning, fellow voters:

Here’s my take on the VP debate–Sarah wins for makeup. (Joe, please tone down those orange tones–you looked like a spooky pumpkin on my TV screen!)  Joe wins for overall VP knowledge and for addressing the questions that the moderator asked.  (Sarah, a nationally televised debate is NOT the time to play the role of an ignorant student bullshi***** her way through an oral exam.) 

Palin earned my vote for becoming a sorority sister.  It’s obvious that she was coached on energy and Iraq and that’s about it.  (A “cram for the exam” strategy, no doubt.) No matter what the question was about, did you notice how she always steered her answer to those two topics?  Palin’s ignorance, diction, and rhetoric force me to ask: WOULD YOU TRUST THIS PERSON TO BE PRESIDENT OF THE UNITED STATES?

Biden has my vote for becoming the next vice president.  He showed a thorough command of the issues and if, God forbid, something happened to Obama, Biden could run the country.

Sarah Palin – A Dangerous Choice for Jews‏

What does it say about McCain’s commitment to Israel that he picked untested religious zealot to be his running mate?  Sarah Palin has no foreign policy experience, has troublesome associations with anti-semetism.  She has never been to Israel, or even spoken on the subject.  And she’s supposed to be the next leader of the free world should 72-year-old John McCain pass away?

Just last week Sarah sat through a Sermon in her church by the anti-Semitic founder of Jews for Jesus, who has said that terrorist attacks leveled upon Israel is God punishing Jews for their failure to embrace Christianity.  Jews for Jesus has the goal of converting ALL Jews to Christianity – but they have a privileged place at her Church in Alaska.   http://www.myjewishlearning.com/blog/history-community/sarah-palin-hearts-jews-for-jesus/

But it gets worse.  When Palin was Mayor of Wasilla Alaska she supported anti-Semite and Nazi-sympathizer Pat Buchanan’s campaign for President in 1996 AND 2000.  In 1999 she even wore a Buchanan button and hosted him at an event in her hometown.   Remember, this is the same Buchanan that has called Hitler a ‘man of great courage’ who was possessed with ‘extraordinary gifts” and refers to Capitol Hill in DC as an “Israeli-occupied territory.”   Buchanan himself remembers Sarah as a “terrific gal” who raised money for him.   You can see it here: http://beltwayblips.com/video/sarah_palin_pat_buchanan_fund_raiser/
Making Fun of Stein

Palin’s use of anti-semitism to advance her political career goes back even further.  When she first ran for Mayor in Alaska she stoked the flames of anti-semitism in her own small community of 6,500 people.  Her motto was ‘The First Christian Mayor of Wasilla.’  Fine enough for someone who believes we should teach our children creationism and opposes abortions even for girls who are victims of rape or incest.  But not fine considering her opponent had the last name Stein.  Getting elected by bashing Jewish last names might be OK in the Syria or modern day France – but it won’t fly in the White House. 
We cannot trust this woman with Vice Presidency or relations with Israel.  And we certainly can’t trust her to share our values. Please pass along to friends who need to know this information.
