Can the US afford to have a dedicated flake for VP?
She’s so conservative, even Rush Limbaugh and James Dobson support her. I bet that Dr. Laura joins the club after the holiday.
She’s a gun-toting NRA supporter.
She admits to having smoked marijuana for years but now says she didn’t like it.
She named her kids Track, Bristol, Willow, Piper, and Trig (kind of reminiscent of fellow flake Lisa Druck’s changing her name to “Reille” and having a best friend named “Pigeon O’Brien”) …(And, who is raising Palin’s 5 youngish kids while she’s out saving the world?)
A month ago, on CNBC, she said she hadn’t a clue as to what the VP does and didn’t want the post.
She supports expanding oil production in Alaska and elsewhere at the expense of the environment. Obama’s right–our country needs to get away from its dependence on oil ASAP–opening up more oil wells is merely a stopgap measure given this country’s long-term energy needs.
Note that Karl Rove and Dick Cheney picked her, not McCain (who wanted Lieberman)–he had met Palin just once before yesterday. McCain has shown absolutely no backbone in recent years–he does what ever he’s told by the GOP brass (including voting for Bush’s agenda 90% of the time) and will continue to do so once he’s president (in other words, 4 more years of Bush’s advisors and policies).
Here’s an interesting take on the Obama/McCain situation from The Times of London:
Finally, if McCain were president and something were to happen to him, is a beauty pageant queen/hockey mom who knows nothing about national or international politics the person best suited to be in the Oval Office?
Just my thoughts–hope you have a good weekend!
