Mitt Romney isn’t concerned about the very poor and wants even more CUT taxes for the 1%

Why am I not surprised? I guess Romney wants to make the 1% the .001%.

Romney’s tax plan is not for the middle class. In fact, high-income households would win big and poor families would actually fare worse. Despite evidence to the contrary, there is a lingering view that Mitt Romney’s tax plan would primarily help middle-income households and not favor the rich. Yet TPC’s analysis of the plan clearly showed that high-income households would win big and others would do less well. Poor families would actually lose, relative to the taxes they’re paying this year.

Talk about stacking the deck against homeowners: Freddie Mac has been denying homeowners the ability to refinance and then making investments betting on homeowners not being able to refinance.

Here’s an excerpt from the NPR story:

Freddie Mac, a taxpayer-owned mortgage company, is supposed to make homeownership easier. One thing that makes owning a home more affordable is getting a cheaper mortgage.

But Freddie Mac has invested billions of dollars betting that U.S. homeowners won’t be able to refinance their mortgages at today’s lower rates, according to an investigation by NPR and ProPublica, an independent, nonprofit newsroom.

Facebook Timeline Privacy Tips

Dear gentle blog reader,
I don’t know about you, but I’m absolutely dreading Facebook’s Timeline conversion. The following PC World article has some good tips to help protect your privacy on Timeline:

The first step to Facebook privacy is making your profile, or Timeline, private. To do this, go to Privacy Settings > How You Connect and change the settings for “Who can post on your timeline?” and “Who can see posts by others on your timeline?” from “Public” to “Friends.”

Go to Privacy Settings > How Tags Work and change the settings for “Maximum Timeline Visibility” from “Public” to “Friends.”

If you’re super-intense, you can change those settings to “Custom” and choose “Only Me” — then you’ll be the only one who can see the posts.

Finally, limit your past posts — which may have been made public at the time — to Friends only. To do this, go to “Limit the Audience for Past Posts” and click “Manage Past Post Visibility,” then “Limit Old Posts.” This will change all past posts to Friends-only, even if you initially made them public.
