Hello, gentle reader,
After watching the Dow ticker drop below the 8000-point mark this morning, I then watched Bush’s speech, the point of which, was to instill confidence in us, the American citizens and voters.
He failed.
This citizen and voter didn’t hear anything new–just a rehash of old news and old strategies. Basically, Bush was saying, “We’re grasping at straws–we haven’t a clue as to how to get us out of this mess.”
His strategies involve more loans and bailouts–but the way out of debt isn’t to take on more debt now, is it? As for the big bailout, you and I know who’ll be paying for that, don’t we?…That’s right, those of us who happen to be middle-class taxpayers (or shall we say “American economic suckers”)!!! Besides which, Bush is bailing out the wrong parties–irresponsible banks and borrowers!
I don’t know about you, but I’m scared, scared that Bush is as clueless Herbert Hoover–unable to stop the slide. Visions of long soup lines come to mind.
The only thing Bush succeeded in doing, as far as I’m concerned, is to get my “no confidence” vote.
