Well, friends,
As we wind down the week, what should I see at my local supermarket (and visit online)–but the National Enquirer, you know, the source of all things true.
First, they claim to have 3 sworn affadavits and a polygraph test to show that while she was mayor of Wasilla, Ms. Palin cavorted with her husband’s business partner, Brad Hanson (and what a cute hunk he is: http://www.mahalo.com/Brad_Hanson):
Then The National Enquirerclaims there’s a video of Bristol, wild child of Wasilla, doing pot. If that’s not enough, the mag goes on to say Bristol’s shotgun fiance, Levi Johnston: http://www.usmagazine.com/news/new-levipalin-draft sells OxyContin):
I kind of pity poor Bristol–first her sex life and now her recreational drug activities are part of the national agenda. It must be kind of rough on her, being a teenager and all.

Palin seems to have forgotten her wedding vows–it’d be great if she spent more time with her husband and children. (And, btw, I’d say the exact same thing if she were a man.)

At the moment the signs that McCain/Palin gets to the WH seem to be growing dimmer and dimmer. That should be a relief to all of us who harbor hopes that we can pull the US out of the mess the last eight years have delivered.

I agree with you about the Palin kids–I think a move from Wasilla to Washington, DC would be catastrophic for them. They seem like a nice lot, but they just need a lot more parental attention.
As for the election, given we have a Herbert Hoover in the White House, we need to have someone who will be able get us out of this recession/soon-to-be Depression!

Sarah Palin should be ashamed of using her handicapped baby as a “prop”. The other day, she walked down this long catwalk type stage to the lecturn…all the while holding up her baby son. When she arrived at the microphone, she handed the baby off to someone. What was the purpose of that? That poor little guy needs to be in his baby nursery or at least NOT out in large crowds where he could come into contact with something contageous. Come on now…it’s almost as if she is using him as her mascot…shameful, shameful. When she loses the election and comes back to Wasilla, she is going to get the shock of her life. Many, many of us have lost our respect for MANY things she’s done in this campaign and we are ashamed of MANY things she has said. It is painfully obvious that SHE IS NO LONGER A TRUE ALASKAN.

Thank you so much for your interesting comment. As someone who who has taught persons with Down’s Syndrome for 3 years, I, too, am appalled by Governor Palin’s using her newborn son as some sort of trophy prize.
I think you’re right–no true Alaskan would act the way she does.
